Where Should You Head to First When You get to Sydney

If you’re a traveler and you haven’t made your way to Sydney yet the it really is time to book that trip.  The largest city in Australia, the Harbour City really stands apart as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  Sydney sees millions of tourists passing through every year taking advantage of all that Sydney has to offer.  So where should you head to first when you get to Sydney…let’s have a look.

The Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House opened back in 1973 and it is more famous for being an architectural marvel rather than any of the performances here.  That being said if you have a chance to take in one of the many performance happening here you absolutely should the acoustics are amazing.  You can check out the performance schedule and grab some tickets right on their website.  If you don’t have the time to check out a performance you can go through on one of the walking tours.

The Taronga Zoo

Australia has a whole bunch of unique animals that can’t be found anywhere else in the world and one of the best places to see them is the Taronga Zoo.  Yes, you can see a cuddly koala up close not to mention catching a glimpse or two of the kangaroos that are all over the countryside.  At the Tarongo Zoo you can see animals from all over the globe not just the locals, some animals will include lions, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles and chimpanzees.  There are programs at the zoo that will show your kids around and teach them all about the animals.

The Royal Botanic Garden

Not only does Australia have unique animal life they also have some pretty unique plants and flowers and you can see them all here at the Royal Botanic Garden.  There are thousands of species of plants native to Australia and you can participate in one of the organized tours or you wander around on your own exploring.  Guided tours happen every day at noon.

If museums, zoo and gardens sound a little too boring for you then make sure you head to Bondi Beach for a day of sun and sand.  Sydney has some fantastic shopping around the area or all over Sydney.  The food is fantastic especially if you love seafood!  If you want to check out the nightlife you won’t be disappointed!  Sydney has plenty of happening clubs and bars where you can dance the night away.   Sydney really is a world class city where people of all ages can have a fantastic time.
